Just a dog lovin' guy living a simple life and helping dogs. I've dedicated over 30 years to helping dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes and behaviours. My mission is simple; to be a voice for the underdogs and ensure every dog knows the love, safety and joys of being part of a caring family. The beautiful faces below all currently call LDR home. Some are eagerly awaiting their forever families, while others—due to age, health, or behavioral challenges—have found their permanent place here, embraced as "lifers" in my rescue family. Never again will they be homeless, unloved, or at risk of being needlessly euthanized just for being a dog.

Training is a fun and rewarding way to build a positive, healthy relationship with your dog. Whether you have a young puppy or an adult dog, choosing the right trainer makes a huge difference. That’s why I only recommend reward-based, force-free methods that use positive reinforcement and motivation — no outdated choke chains, prong collars, or e-collars (shock collars). These science-backed approaches help dogs learn faster and more enthusiastically, while strengthening your bond and reducing stress and fear-related issues.
If you're in the Thunder Bay area, visit The Dog Classroom, a positive reinforcement facility with certified trainers. Training is fun, effective, and bond-strengthening for you and your dog.
My policy has consistently been one of full transparency when it comes to the rescue, a principle I believe all rescue organizations should embrace. This commitment entails making publicly available the name(s) of all individuals involved in rescue operations, the primary location where animals are housed, maintaining an open-door policy for authorities to address any concerns or grievances, and reassuring the public that all animals are being cared for with kindness and compassion. I’m happy to address questions about the rescue and am always available -within reason- to anyone seeking information.
